Last Yard attains AWS Retail Competency and joins AWS ISV Accelerate Program

Accreditation will help retail customers looking for highly specialized APN Partners offering retail technology on AWS to drive productivity, improved customer satisfaction, sustainability and compliance

Perth, Australia – November 17, 2023: Last Yard, a global provider of in-store and omni-channel retail shelf-edge solutions, announced that it has attained the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Retail Competency and has joined the AWS ISV Accelerate Program.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, and serving more than 8,500 retail customer stores in 6 markets around the world, Last Yard has been an AWS Partner Network (APN) partner since 2015. Working with iconic retail brands such as Bing Lee, Spotlight, Anaconda, JB Hi-Fi, and Terry White Chemists, Last Yard provides innovative shelf edge signage based, marketing execution solutions in grocery, liquor, pharmacy and specialty (Home, white goods and electrical) stores.

Last Yard’s success in Australia and around the world was reflected in the decision by Software Combined to acquire the company in April 2023. Focused on maximising the benefit of the ‘last yard’ of decision making by consumers in store at the shelf edge, and linked increasingly to online channels, Last Yard’s platform helps retailers increase sales, reduce costs, increase productivity and improve customer engagement by coordinating in-store promotions across print, digital screens, ESL, DSE and future technologies.

Last Yard’s attainment of the AWS Retail Competency validates the company as a leader in retail software provision. Last Yard leverages a number of enterprise grade AWS managed services such as Aurora & EC2 allowing it to provide a highly available and powerful SaaS retail platform to its customers, capable of generating 100,000s of promotions a minute.

To gain the AWS Retail Competency, Last Yard has achieved multiple levels of AWS technical validations and has participated in comprehensive deep dives in security architectures with AWS Solutions Architects. This investment of time and highly skilled experts from Last Yard has ensured Last Yard continues to align closely to AWS best practices for building highly secure, high performance, resilient solutions for its customers.

AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.

Last Yard chief executive officer, Chris Stoyles, said; “Last Yard has more than 20 years’ experience in helping retail customers maximise their customer engagement, and drive efficiency across their entire value chain. Collaborating closely with AWS, Last Yard relentlessly innovates on behalf of our customers to help them eliminate outdated manual tasks, more efficiently align promotional activity to strategic goals, support brand consistency, and improve pricing execution in real time across their entire network.”

“Last Yard is excited to attain the AWS Retail Competency and join the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. This will allow us to further our utilisation of AWS services to tailor specific solutions to specific customer needs. Based on the integration of AWS services, Last Yard will continue to help retailers digitally transform the customer experience across their store network, migrating seamlessly from existing manual shelf edge signage processes that take too long to execute, generate high wage costs, and often eventuate in missing promotions and revenue loss. We aim to also play an even larger role in enabling customers to reduce waste, a major issue for
retailers amid growing customer and regulatory focus on sustainability.”

Last Yard has also announced that it has also joined the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, a co-sell program for organizations that provide software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS. Membership in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program will also help Last Yard drive new business and accelerate sales cycles by connecting participating independent software vendors (ISVs) to the AWS sales organization.

Additionally, Last Yard can now gain co-sell support and benefits to connect with AWS field sellers globally, who service millions of active AWS customers. This will help Last Yard accelerate its global expansion plans and collaborate with more retail technology partners within the AWS Partner Network.
